Milling Barn at Bluntswood Hall is an idyllic setting for an English country wedding, and this day was the stuff of folklore. Boundless joy and love shared by friends and family, including so many relatives who had travelled all the way from Iceland. My cheeks hurt from smiling so much!

Elly & Magnus created a completely personal wedding at Milling Barn near Hitchin. Magnus’ family are Icelandic, so there were several nods to his heritage, from the many flags to the delicious Kransekake, a traditional Icelandic cake. The couple wore beautiful dried flowers, which Elly had sourced herself, and used fragrant dried petals as confetti.
Milling Barn itself is unlike most barn wedding venues, as it is light and airy which makes it a wonderful setting for indoor speeches. As is so common with English weddings, the heavens opened during the ceremony, but fate was kind to these two as the sun came out in time for the reception!
Even if it does rain on your wedding day, there is almost always a pause in the showers, so it is important to seize those moments to take some pictures around your venue in the natural daylight!
