Talita and Tom’s wedding theme was Disco Sunrise. Imagine bright, fiery sunrise colors — oranges, pinks, and yellows — and a healthy dollop of sequins. Talita’s inspiration came from her orange sparkly shoes from Irregular Choice (which, let’s be honest, is a total vibe), and from there, everything just clicked into place.

“We wanted it to feel like a new beginning,” Talita said, “so we called it ‘sunrise’ rather than sunset. It was a reflection of the start of our life together.”

And you could feel that energy throughout the day — it was a celebration of fresh starts, new adventures, and a love that’s bold and full of life. Talita worked her magic with the color scheme by pulling inspiration from the dresses in the Duntery collection, mixing those colors with the wedding’s disco theme. It was all personal, vibrant, and a perfect representation of their careers in music and their love for living life to the fullest.

A Rock ‘n’ Roll Wedding to Remember at Highcliffe Castle

Now, let’s talk about that ceremony. Forget the typical wedding march. Talita’s walk down the aisle was set to Blackbird by The Beatles, performed by Rival Sons — yes, the same band Talita works with as their publicist. When a bona fide rock band starts playing for your wedding, you know it’s going to be a showstopper. And Blackbird? One of the most beautiful and intimate Beatles tracks, it set the perfect tone for the moment Talita and Tom officially became partners for life. It wasn’t just the music that was personal; Talita and Tom wrote their own vows, even getting a little help from Talita’s therapist to make sure they were in the right space to express how they truly felt. I mean, this is how you make your ceremony you. Real, raw, and completely authentic.

Brass Bands, a Beach Promenade, and Lindy Hop Dancing

The wedding ceremony is wrapping up, everyone’s whooping – Enter ‘Les Grooms’, a French theatrical brass band that led the guests on a joyful procession to the reception. And when I say joyful, I mean the kind of lively performance that has people grinning from ear to ear. It was such a unique touch, and as Talita said;

“Even the rock stars from Rival Sons had never seen anything like it!”

From the opera singer hiding among the guests to the band dancing with strangers, it was a full-on experience that brought so much personality to the celebration. The entertainment didn’t stop there. A pianist serenaded guests during dinner, setting a relaxed and elegant tone before the real party kicked in.

Tom delivered his speech through the medium of song, and a flash-mob style medley of musicians hidden throughout the marquee. Members of the band Zoot Zazou and Rival Sons stood up one by one to play their instruments while Tom sang his speech.

Zoot Zazou, the next band on the lineup, kept the energy up and before you knew it, everyone was on the dance floor. And Talita and Tom? They totally owned their first dance, debuting months of Lindy Hop lessons with a choreographed routine to Sing, Sing, Sing! — talk about setting the bar high.

An Alternative Wedding Without the Pressure

What really stands out about Talita and Tom’s wedding is how they avoided the typical wedding industry pressure to conform. They didn’t go for what they were “supposed” to do. Instead, they focused on what mattered to them — making it personal, making it fun, and making it a reflection of their personalities.

“We saved money by doing all the planning ourselves, having the reception at Dad’s, and borrowing the lighting and sound equipment from a friend.”

Alternative Wedding Ideas

To top things off, the night peaked with a surprise silent disco. And not just any silent disco — there were three channels: Funky Groomsman, Karaoke Bridesmaids, and Classical Grandad. Imagine the sights: guests grooving to different beats, totally lost in their own world, but all dancing together. It was so much fun, I danced with Talita’s father whilst we were on totally different channels and it’s one of those moments I’ll never forget.

At the end of the day, Talita and Tom’s wedding wasn’t about doing things the way society expects. It was about celebrating their love, their story, and the joy of being together in a way that felt totally true to who they are. It was colorful, it was fun, and it was unapologetically theirs.
