If you haven’t heard of Normanton Church, get on google right now! It’s an incredible lakeside church at Rutland Water, preserved after the local valleys were flooded in the creation of the reservoir. The church is actually just the top part of the old church, which is now the part above water level.
I’ve never seen another place quite like it, and I’m lucky enough to visit it a couple of times a year. When Paul & Eve described their wedding plans I jumped at the opportunity, as they also held their reception at The George Hotel in Stamford, a beautiful and grand hotel. The road that runs through Stamford was the old Great North Road, so it was a popular highway inn, and is now a destination venue!
