Pre-Wedding Shoot: Hitchin Lavender Fields

Madeleine & Tom

As I write this, I can still smell the heady lavender tones of Hitchin Lavender fields, and perhaps the lavender will reach you across your screens too. We waited for the flowers to be in full bloom and arrived early at the lavender fields to avoid the rush.
It is hard to believe these fields are in Hertfordshire, the rolling hills look like something from the pages of a travel magazine! The blooms created the perfect pre-wedding shoot back drop as the purple meets the sky, and the fields look never-ending.

I met Madeleine & Tom just before the Hitchin lavender fields opened, to make sure we have as much space to ourselves as possible for their engagement shoot. Once it got busier, using certain camera angles we could even make it look as though we were completely alone.
The bees were out in force amongst the lavender and unfortunately one decided to sting Madeleine on her toe! Madeleine was determined to keep going with the pre-wedding shoot, so we found a first aider and once they had patched her up, we jumped right back in to the fields.

Pre-wedding shoots are a perfect trial run for your wedding photos. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other before the wedding as well as for you to get used to being in front of the camera. We can also try out various ideas and see which you like best, so we can focus on those at your wedding.
If you are interested in a pre-wedding shoot, head over to my Contact Form and let’s arrange to meet (ideally with some coffee and cake involved too!). Even though I am a Leeds wedding photographer, I shoot weddings all across Yorkshire and in every corner of the UK.
