Hannah & Joseph: Stapleford Park Wedding Photographer

I first met Hannah & Joe at Stapleford Park for their pre-wedding shoot, in the autumn before their wedding. It was incredibly windy but after a coffee we braved the gales and had a great walk around the gardens.
A year later, I arrived at Stapleford Park and was wowed by the Orangery, now decorated with flowers in autumnal shades. I worked with my second shooter Georgi, so she could photograph Joe and his groomsman and woman while I stayed with Hannah and the girls. Hannah and Joe had a First Look before the ceremony. It was such a special moment that was just for them, and took away the nervous tension so they could enjoy the ceremony without added pressure.

Their ceremony in the Orangery was breathtaking, with a harpist welcoming guests in from drinks at the main house. The amount of natural light in this venue is unparalleled and gets a huge thumbs up from me! Having a second shooter was especially beneficial during the reception, as while I went for a walk with the bride and groom for their couple’s pictures and family photos, the second shooter continued photographing lots of natural coverage of the guests.

Hannah & Joe’s wedding stationery was gorgeous and eye-catching. They incorporated their pre-wedding shoot photographs in their invites, and in a wedding quiz for the guests complete during the meal. It’s always a treat for me to see couples use their pre-wedding shoot photos in their wedding decoration, it’s a great feeling!

In the evening I whisked the couple away for more photos now that the speeches were out of the way. Whenever possible I try to do this with couples, all the nerve-wracking parts of the day are done. It’s lovely to make the most of this relaxed time, and a few stolen moments alone for the bride and groom can be really special. Hannah & Joe were keen on having an evening photo, so we went for the ultimate drama of lighting up the Orangery dome. To finish the night, a swing band played whilst everyone had cocktails. Just as well it was so lively, because it was a surprisingly chilly October evening!
