I revisited The Courtyard Room at North Street Bar in Peterborough to be music photographer for the 3rd, monthly Red Lions Music Promotions event. Again, the bar was packed out with people excited to hear the original music from Sons of Kal-El, Our Glorious Demonic Heist and Fallen Breaks.
Following up from the Foo Fighters/Nirvana night, it is great to see the exposure such talented musicians are now getting with these fantastic showcases.
~SONS OF KAL-EL~
First to take the stage was Sons of Kal-El. I thought the dark red lights behind the stage suited their sound; moody, guitar heavy and loud. The strong light and shadows makes for fantastic portrait photographs. Tim from the High Rollers stepped in on drums, and the 4 piece not only set the beat but the tone for the evening.
~OUR GLORIOUS DEMONIC HEIST~
I had seen Our Glorious Demonic Heist once this summer when I was photographing at The Willow Festival, so I was very excited to see them again. Although minus their bassist for this performance in Peterborough, the two guitars gave them a rock and roll edge.
Fallen Breaks took to the stage with a crowd already pumped from the last two bands. Dave’s long hair makes his performance even more charismatic and he is a great front man for an amazing band.
